By Ben Braiser

1 variation

Miso Soup is a simple Japanese broth flavored with savory dashi and miso paste, studded with tofu and seaweed. It’s a comforting starter or light snack that’s ready in minutes. Garnish with scallions for freshness.

Ingredients

  • 4 cup dashi broth
  • ¼ cup white miso paste
  • 1 cup tofu, cubed
  • ¼ cup wakame, rehydrated
  • ¼ cup scallion, sliced

Steps

  1. Bring dashi broth to a gentle simmer.
  2. Dissolve miso paste with a little hot broth, then stir back into the pot.
  3. Add tofu and rehydrated wakame; heat gently without boiling.
  4. Ladle into bowls and garnish with sliced scallion.
